Re: News from Mongo?
Oddly enough, an evening news program a few days before had the same slogan - "will they be merciless to Ming?"

Over the weekend I'd heard various things that made me think it was coming, but I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly!

Nor me. First I knew of it was seeing it on Sky News on the ferry this evening.

Oh, I see; sorry. I was dashing about looking for Belgium's dissolution...I wasn't aware of the Ming reference.

Neither did I. That was quick.

Also, that Ming is younger than I'd thought...

Well, no, none of us did, as per the conversation on that very topic in the bar on Sunday evening!

Given his PPS didn't either, I think we can cut ourselves some collective slack

But now, who...?

I don't know; there were signs in the last few months - the infamous photo-op of Ming and the toilet was PR almost as bad as Hague's baseball cap; and he obviously wasn't making the Lib Dems heard in Parliament; after Pantsdown and Chucky, he was a near non-entity.

As such, the knives had to be out, sooner or later; and it was probably for the best that it was quick and quiet. The problem, of course, is who the hell has the clout to be the next leader.

Chucky, as long as the party isn't too uptight about his drinking.
