Free stuff

Sorting through the bookshelves, I've found a small number of books and videos that I am prepared to relinquish to the first person who asks for them.

Books I have in duplicate:
Alfred Bester, The Demolished Man
Ian Marter, Doctor Who and the Enemy of the World
China Mieville, King Rat
James Morrow, Bible Stories for Adults

Books I have no intention of finishing:
Elaine Cunningham, Daughter of the Drow
Rebecca Jenkins, Fanny Kemble: The Reluctant Celebrity

Videos where we have the DVDs:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 7

Post a comment below or email me if you are interested, otherwise I shall try eBay.

Can I put in a request for The Enemy Of The World? I've got a copy of the reconstruction that I intend to watch sometime, so it would probably help in comprehending it!

OK, it's yours - and I have your address from Facebook.

Thank you very much - I'll try and write a post about it when I've read the book and watched the story.

Ooh! I'll be happy to give an Alfred Bester book a good home.

You have a great idea going there - but I have so much bad-pulp to be rid of, I think I'm better off heading to my nearest charity bookstore.

Certainly is an easier and quicker and less expensive way of disposing of them!

Might I have your copy of "King Rat", if it's not claimed? I feel a bit shy about giving my snail mail out to interwebs at large.

Here's my email: tentative @ gmail. com

And I'll be willing to reimburse you for shipping if you like.

Not for the books but just to comment. I miss far more LJ than I see - it is simply how life is this last year or some. A while back, during one of my hapless attempts at catching up (and failing to comment) I was struck by a post in which you apologised for posting so many reviews in one morning. I enjoy your reviews, your commentary on current affairs and posts about life in general. I like to see them there when I drop in - something sane and hopeful to look forward to, even in times which seem neither.

Very kind of you! Thanks!

I love the idea of free and gave up ebay for freecycle.

If you can't get a taker for your stuff give it a google, you may have a loal group.

The diverse stuff I recently found a home for:

A semi-feral stray cat, 3 of it's kittens, 300+ back issues of local newspapers, a saw horse, childrens books, clothes, a computer desk etc.

In return I've got a video player after mine broke, a jig saw, a leather chair.

Much more rewarding than ebay and people will take stuff you normally take to the dump.

Hmm, they do indeed have both Brussels and Leuven groups! Well, I'll give it a try.
Jun. 4th, 2007 04:41 am (UTC)
Um, how much are you charging for Buffy Season 7?
Jun. 4th, 2007 04:42 am (UTC)
Oh, CRAP it's FREE. But it's PAL, isn't it? Crud.

I'll snap up the Elaine Cunningham, if it's in hardcover. I have the paperback, but it's been read so often it's falling apart. :)
Jun. 4th, 2007 04:44 am (UTC)
And if it isn't a hardcover, I'll take the Morrow.
Jun. 4th, 2007 04:44 am (UTC)
"it" being the Cunningham. I'll stop spamming you now.
Jun. 4th, 2007 05:37 am (UTC)
The Cunningham is in fact a soft cover; and the Buffy videos are of course PAL; so I guess that means you only want the Morrow?
Jun. 4th, 2007 05:46 am (UTC)
Indeed, sir. Thank you very much! Would you like a copy of D-Day in South Limburg by Jan Hendriks and Hans Koenen in return? We have two. And I've been trying to find a way to get rid of it for years, short of sending it on a bookcrossing, (it's rare outside of the Limburgs, and didn't want to risk it going into oblivion).
