Playing with the UnSuggester

Further investigations reveal:
If you own A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin, you are unlikely to own Socks Two from Vogue's Knitting on the Go series.
If you own Nine Princes in Amber by Roger Zelazny, you are unlikely to own Desiring God: meditations of a Christian hedonist by John Piper.
If you own One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn, you are unlikely to own Definitely Dead, the sixth in Charlaine Harris' series of Southern Vampire novels.
If you own The Color Purple by Alice Walker, you are unlikely to own F.A. Hayek's classic economic treatise, The Road to Serfdom. Which is ironic, in a way.
If you own the Confessions of St Augustine, you are unlikely to own Sherilynn Kenyon's vampire romance, Night Pleasures.
If you own The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, you are unlikely to own D.A. Carson's highly regarded textbook warning against Exegetical Fallacies.
I could go on all day. It is interesting that theology texts, and paranormal romance, seem to be somewhat isolated bodies of literature.

Thank you muchly for this entertainment! :D I just was advised to avoid Grisham because I like Sin City graphic novels, and liking "Ubik" should repulse me from the list of, it seems, exceptionally female authors. Also Pratchett is in strong opposition to religious pamphlets and love life & wedding advices.
Looks like I could go all day as well. :D

Um, as unlikely as it might seem. I actually own both of those. One as an ex schoolbook and one as a recent purchase...

you are unlikely to own Definitely Dead, the sixth in Charlaine Harris' series of Southern Vampire novels.

I also own this... Not a bad series, strong characters caught up in a whirlwind of events and no compunction to make the vampires fuzzy. I recommend it for very light reading.

We own both the Harris and the Solzhenitsyn. In fairness, I must point out that the former is mine and the latter is Jordin's. Your FL seems a bit unlikely....

And in my investigations from early this morning, readers of military SF don't read chick lit. Of course, I happen to know an exception to that. ;)

This makes me think that LT should have some sort of "Outliers" social networking tool. I'd be interested in finding out the other person is who owns books by both David Weber and A.S. Byatt ;) (I don't think that person exists on LT yet.)

Am I the only one disturbed by the visual reference on the cover of Definitely Dead? Maybe I'm looking too deeply into it.

Also, I've found that I have actually read quite a few of those books that are put in opposition to one another on that UnSuggester...

Unlikely...
... but not impossible. The first pair, I can do. Granted I didn't actually *buy* the George R R Martin, but it is on the shelves...
