Belgian friends, your advice please...

...for reasons which will eventually be revealed, I need to get hold of some distilled vinegar. Any suggestions as to where I might buy it, with particular reference to shops in Brussels or Leuven, would be very welcome.

What do you mean with 'distilled vinegar'? Wikipedia does not know it so neither do I :-).

It needs to be acetic acid that is chemically pure - the stuff you get in the supermarket tends to have vegetable impurities.

Would you mean something that you'd buy in a very small bottle, and have to dilute with water to get vinegar of the acidity most frequently used in the kitchen? (Something like 6%, if memory serves me right...)

I'd had such a product years ago, purchased in a Morrocan shop in the Netherlands. I've never seen its like since, although I'll see if I can't pop into a few likely candidates today in Leuven. I'll text you if there's any good news.

Yes, that's the kind of thing I mean, I think...

Maybe at an Italian (or French) traiteur?
Can't think of an address right away, but there are several in Brussels (I wouldn't be surprised if there is one in the Rue Jourdan (not too far from your office), with its many Italian restaurants), and there should be a few in Leuven as well.
