Bike Ride

To Heverlee War Cemetery, which I referred to also here; I was originally hoping to spend this weekend exploring battlefields in Macedonia, but this will do for now.

Heverlee
Now there's a name I haven't seen for over 10 years. I dog sat for someone in Oud Heverlee for three months, and spent 3 months living in what turned out to be a tumbeldown wooden shack with a half collapsed roof on Naamsesteenweg, by the edge of the woods, maybe 100 yards from the railway. I don't recall there being very much at all in Heverlee beyond a garage, although I had noticed the Cemetery gateway in passing.

Re: Heverlee
Small world, isn't it! Heverlee does have more shops than Oud Heverlee, so we resort there often for groveries and takeaways.

Re: Heverlee
If you happen to be passing I'd be interested to know if the shack survives. Its was apparently a single story (although a ladder took you through a hatch where you could sleep in a dog-free envrionment with plastic sheeting covering the half-collpsed bits of roofing, odd and kinda cool as you could see the stars at night). It was on its own right at the edge of Oud Heverlee (a bit called Blanden IIRC), just where the woods began right next to the pavement on Naamsesteenweg (the main road nto Leuven). I'd be interested to know if the owner finished restoring it, or if its finally fallen over.
