Well...

...I hope they get that carpet nailed down before taking off for Paris.

What did you think of it? My instant reaction: probably the worst script, and the best direction, of the series to date. Visually *stunning*, but all the stuff that was clearly supposed to have emotional force - the Rose/Mickey, Rose/Pete, Doctor/Mrs Moore interactions - just left me cold. Compare and contrast, as they say, with Father's Day.

On the other hand - next week we get Maureen Lipman as Joyce Grenfell-equivalent with evil lightning! Hurrah!

RTD doesn't do emotional force; he does sentiment, and it is becoming very annoying.

Well, the one fan-theoretical bet I'd place is that this is not the last we've seen of Mickey, Pete, and the Tyler family dynamic this season. I have the sense that there's a big pay-off/resolution coming down the line, though I'm not sure what.

Or possibly by the magic of not being all that near the factory and unable to move very quickly...

(As she lives in SE15 and Battersea is SW8.)

Lumic only activated earpods for the City of London. Though in theory, in this universe at least, that would mean not very many people. And certainly Pete and Jackie Tyler's place didn't look like it was in the Square Mile. But I am with brisingamen, she was probably ambling to the back of the queue when the earpods were deactivated.

She might've been rejected for being blind and infirm -- in which case she's floating around as a puff of smoke... ;P

Bit awkward having them all walk from the City to Battersea, presumably through crowds of the non-controlled wondrign what the hell is going on. Also by night time the City is deserted, going from its million or so day population to its 10,000 or so actual residents.

On the bright side, the "he said the City" dodge would explain the bizarre statement about putting London's entire population into Battersea power station at once.

Everyone seems to be worrying about that.

I just started giggling insanely at the bit in the van.

Where the hell was the Casablanca quote? Damn it, if you're going to rip it off so shamelessly at the end, use a bloody quote!
