Best. Episode. Ever.

There are no words.

I didn't cry very much.

Right, better watch it again.

It'll be on BBC3 at 9pm on Friday if that's any help.

See eg. www.tvtv.co.uk for listings...

Agree - best episode of an already strong series.

Wow. I've never watched *any* Dr. Who (once I get my hands on the DVDs of the new series' first season I'll remedy that), but I heard a lot about the, "Just this once, Rose, *everybody lives*," episode last year, which I got the impression made everybody in the entire world who watched it cry. Better than that?

Have to agree, as far as a story is concerned The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances formed an absolute high point; last night's episode was one for old-timers who wanted to see lots of background to the characters...

At least as good. The WW2 episodes from last year each had (for me) a slightly annoying rather British parsing of history uncritically adopted by the Doctor, so get marked down for that. They are still very good though (and on the same CD as "Dalek" and "Father's Day" if you want to get them separately).

God episode. nice interaction, brought one of my favourite moments of the doctor(leaving Sarah Jane in the wrong place, so the Dr.)

However am unsure about the Krillan, they seemed a bit 2-D. Ah well.

It will be intresting to see how Mickey is as a companion.

Media references
As per your later post, I wonder if the boy in class who knew everything was a conscious homage to "An Unearthly Child"?

Also, good to see, in this post-South Park media-verse, a gawky child called Kenny who *doesn't* get killed. The bastards.

I felt like I missed half of it - all the nostalgia from the fourth doctor- but I still loved it. Very convincing, and the argument between Sarah Jane and Rose was priceless.

I suggest you try and get hold of "Doctor Who Confidential" - a 30-minute documentary about the making of the programme - which has a lot of footage of Sarah from the 1970s.
