Cooking in hope

Am trying another Georgian recipe. Unfortunately, after I had blithely bought all the other ingredients in the expectation that I would pick up a brace of pheasants somewhere in Leuven, I realised that there are in fact no pheasants to be had. So I bought two guinea fowl (parelhoenen) instead. Will report back.

Well, how did it turn out?

You know what would be interesting as well...we should post recipes that we've tried from different regions. If you post Georgian recipes, I'll post some from Macedonia, and I'm sure we couldn't find such recipes other places.

I believe fall/winter is pheasant hunting season. They should be brooding right now, if their visual absence but audible presence from places usually overrun with them this past weekend is anything to go on.

Yes, Anne pointed that out afterwards; this is not the season for them. Will try them again at the end of the year.
