It's one of the early cyberpunk texts, characters struggling with evil human overlords and the rise of new technology. Cyberpunk doesn't really do all that much for me, and I got really rather lost in the plot, but I liked the characterisation and appreciate the homage to Zelazny's Damnation Alley.
