Looking from Toronto the idea that any of the Commonwealth countries (except maybe New Zealand) have a sentimental attachment to the UK is nuts. For some former imperial territories it may be a case of bad memories, for a country like Canada it's sheer indifference. For most Canadians the UK just isn't special in any way.
