Livejournal acting up again

Can't post-date entries, can't see comments, can't choose userpic, can't select multiple spam comments for deletion; preparing my backup options... Maybe 2017 will be the year I finally abandon ship and find a new home for blogging.

I switched from the site skin for comment pages to my journal style and can see comments again, but have also imported everything to DW so I have a backup...

Dreamwidth is all the good stuff about LJ without the bad stuff, I can recommend it.

Unless you have a permanent, lifetime paid account on LJ, in which case the move is not cost-free.

It's less a switch and more an addition, because it's easy to crosspost to LJ (I've been doing it for seven years :) ) and so there's still the same presence/comments (when they work!)/etc here.

Sunk cost fallacy becomes more fallacious once the company you sank your costs into moves its servers to Russia. :/

Yeah... Most people who still do LJ moved to Dreamwidth: there are tools for bringing in your entire Livejournal history, comments, friendslist and all.

Also: they've just moved the servers to Russia. This may be safer than keeping the data in the US, and it's definitely better than the UK; but I'm uneasy about it. .

There are rumors that as soon as the servers moved, several popular pro-Ukraine blogs vanished completely off the site.
