I don't really see the bit about the court appointment holding up anywhere. Refusing to even debate the choise *IS* "withholding consent". The Constitution doesn't describe a mechanism for selecting justices. In fact, the Constitution doesn't even establish how many Justices there are, only that there's more than one as it mentions a "Chief Justice". And in terms of statute law I don't think there's anything that forces the Senate to approach the selection in any particular way. Saying "I'm not even talking about that" is definitely a withholding of consent.

I didn't even notice the -beek thing, but then again, I'm from part of the UK where there are a ton of something-becks so I assumed it was the same thing, and luckily was right.

The media have been translating it as "brook" which i suppose everyone knows, including Americans, but I'm a stickler for soundalikes, so I prefer beck, as in "Birkbeck" and other places.

We don't tend to get becks as such in the south, they're more a Danelaw thing, like gills. We go more for Saxon burns and bournes. (the River Beck in South London is a back-formation from Beckenham, which doesn't mean "the ham on the beck" but "the home of the people named for their pick-axes")
