Exactly. After reading that story, I wonder whether Objectivism selects for naivety-- Rand heroes get into trouble because they just want to do their work well and end up trusting the wrong people.

Like Roark and the Whosis Temple. Being focused on work means less attention available for suspecting all strangers.

Still, I also see Roark (or Rearden etc) as being too busy with their own work to get interested in any -ism, even Objectivism -- unless some proponent seeks them out personally.

I suspect that Roark wouldn't have been at all patient with Rand.

Heh. He was plenty patient with Dominique. There could be an interesting crossover, if Francisco tried to recruit him, with an explanation of why so many people were out to cause him trouble.
