Mystery explained

There has been a large foam-rubber statue of a baby in the middle of Rondpoint Schuman for the last week or so. Thanks to Zoe, I now know why. Well, it's a really serious issue (not very surprisingly, I became very aware of it when living in Bosnia - there's nothing like driving through a minefield to concetrate your mind on this one), and I hope that the Finns, Latvians and Poles get around to doing the right thing very soon. But it's still a really ugly statue. According to Zoe it will be "dismantled and destroyed" today. I'm not awfully sorry.
