Scottish Independence
Sorry to ask this question here, but I thought you might be likely to know and I've not been able to find the answer on any of the official referendum websites - what is the cut-off for a successful yes vote? Does it have to be a clear majority ~ 75% or would a simple majority (50.1 %) do?

Re: Scottish Independence
As far as I know, a simple majority is sufficient, and there is no turnout requirement. This is quite different from the last two independence referendums I worked on - Montenegro required a 55% majority (which they scraped through) with a 50% turnout (which they comfortably exceeded); South Sudan required a simple majority for independence but a 60% turnout (and got 98% turnout and 99% vote for independence).
