There's a flip side to the gas question. What happens o the Russian economy if the West stops buying their oil and gas? And what happens if and when sanctions really start to bite?

How much of the gas switch might happen as a result of a market reaction to the threat of sanctions or supply disruption?

If I needed large volumes of gas next winter I’d be thinking about selling my Russian gas forward contracts and buying Norwegian or imported LNG. I’d also be thinking about substitution and efficiency.

"Planning" and "British government" are mutually exclusive, as recent winters have consistently shown. Time to make sure I have plenty of jumpers for next winter when there's either no gas or the price has multiplied dozens-fold...
