The first Who from 1983 that I encountered: I caught only about half the episodes this year due to a clash with music lessons, but did get the first episode of Arc of Infinity in January. I was 15.

My favourite Who from 1983: For us old school fans, the reunion of Pertwee and Troughton is a true joy, with Davison and Hurndall (and the various companions) doing their bit too. Also, as a Clare graduate now, I still love the punting scene from Shada (yes, I know I've said it before).

Moving swiftly on from:The Doctor Who - Time-Flight noveliasation, which is even worse than the original TV story broadcast the previous year.

So, what was your favourite of the above? What is the best bit? (And if you like, what is the worst bit?)

Sarah Sutton. Still Sarah Sutton. Bye bye Sarah Sutton.

Re. Five Doctors - I'd put forward the suggestion that in all the "multi-Doctor" stories - the Three, the Five and the Two - it is the Second Doctor who dominates - he's the one you want to be watching - he's the one who fascinates.

Troughton is superb in all these episodes - and powerful evidence in favour of the idea that he was, after all, 'the best'.

The Five Doctors is unfortunately not very good. Maybe this is the fundamental way of all Big Event Bring Together All The Doctors stories.

Enlightenment and Snakedance would be the two from that year I remember fondly. Mawdryn Undead was I think a bit ponderous and with Terminus there is all the blah-blah stuff about represenations of leprosy to have to get through.

I wish I could remember anything at all about Arc of Infinity.
