Supercalorific banana chocolate cake

Banana-chocolate chip cake

100g butter

200g sugar

2 to 3 medium size ripe bananas, pureed

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

250g flour

1 tsp baking soda

125 ml natural unsweetened yogurt

½ tsp salt

100g chocolate chips

Grease a cake pan with a little butter and flour. Preheat your oven at 180°C.

Whip the butter and slowly add the sugar until the mixture is creamy. Add the banana puree, the eggs and the vanilla. Mix well.

In a big bowl, mix the flour, the baking powder, the salt and the chocolate chips then add this to the first mixture. Mix everything together.

Slowly add the yogurt and mix well. Pour the batter in the cake pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a knife point comes out clean. Let cool for 5 minutes, remove from the cake pan and let the cake cool a little bit more before serving it.

With many thanks to Laura Carre-Diaz.

Oooh, technical details!

I used a flat pie dish in fact. I suspect a 9"/22cm tin would work OK.

Thank you! It sounds like the kind of cake I might well try making, hence the question re tin size.

You are a wonder because this is egg-free and I can use it for birthday cake for work next year.

I'm afraid it isn't egg-free - but I think you could get by with more milk and flour.

Oops. I think you might be right. Or possibly substitute with golden syrup which also works.
