My Delicio.us posting skipped a beat yesterday but seems to be back on form today. These were the links it should have posted:

What, child? What child? - treize64 comments on Upcoming Edition of Huckleberry Finn to Have N-word Removed and Replaced with Slave. "While I can smile at the intentions here, the method turns my stomach to the point of vomiting...the word "nigger" is a fact of American history and the current cultural fabric and every attempt to run away from the problem of its existence only buttresses the negative forces of ignorance powering it."

Because I'm Clever - Nasty Canasta on the Tenth Doctor

New Year... New Money - "So as Estonia enters the new year, it adopts a new currency. In fact, given the horrors of Estonian history over the past century, it is the ninth time that Estonia has been forced to change its money: 1910: Tsarist Roubles, 1916: Occupation Marks, 1918: Estonian Marks, 1928: Estonian Kroon, 1940: Soviet Rouble, 1941: Occupation Marks, 1944: Soviet Roubles, 1992: Estonian Kroon. The difference is that this time the symbolism is one of peaceful prosperity and not of occupation."

Link to Cicero broken, there're some extraneous quotes I think.

If you've got a firefox browser for the use of, Delicious Blog Rescue Tool can be useful, youneed to do a bit of hacking to install it on the most recent versions, but it works well.

Cheers. I do use Firefox occasionally but am a confirmed Chrome addict and anyway the Delcious posts seem to be working again now.

Interesting and well reasoned comment on Estonia's entry into the Euro zone. Thank you for that. The process seems to be proceeding with the usual Estonian sangfroid and good grace, helped in no small measure by the constant outrageous weather - snow flailing winds and more snow with tall man sized drifts in places. Compared to all of that the transfer into euro's is last week's news.
