Pete Fenelon, aka blue_condition

I'm desperately sorry to hear that Pete Fenelon, who the discerning livejournal reader will have known as blue_condition, died a few days ago. I can't say I knew him well, but I enjoyed our interactions immensely; we first made contact during the Lib Dem leadership campaign in 2006, and he posted sardonic and occasionally wistful entries and comments which made me look forward to the day when we might meet, which now will never happen. A typical sample of his comments can be found here, where inter alia he teased me about liking The Curse of Peladon because it is essentially about my day job, and then remarked, "Sadly they never made Doctor Who and the Principal Engineers Of Slight Disillusionment for me."

He was only 40.
