Today's question: tea

When I was a teenager, I drank tea with milk and sugar. I gave up sugar in tea for Lent in 1986, and realised that it actually tasted better, so never went back to it. Earlier this year, after many grumblings at Belgian, Turkish and other catering establishments which did not provide milk to put in my tea, I suddenly realised that it tastes better without milk as well. (I might put in the odd drop of lemon juice.)

But what do you think? (I should clarify that Camellia sinensis is the scientific name of the plant which produces yer standard tea leaves.)

When I drink tea, I prefer it to be:

Camellia sinensis, with milk and sugar
18(18.8%)
Camellia sinensis, with milk but no sugar
29(30.2%)
Camellia sinensis, with sugar but no milk
7(7.3%)
Camellia sinensis, with no milk or sugar
22(22.9%)
Tea made from some other plant
10(10.4%)
I don't drink tea of any variety

I once took sugar and a tea-lady in an office I worked in always gave me 1/2 a spoon less than I'd asked. I adjusted for reality, she dropped it again. I went from 2 - 0 in three weeks.

The milk thing, I just stopped, somewhat inspired by a priest friend of mine who had been on the missions where things like milk and sugar were rare indeed.

I find tea with milk almost undrinkable these days.
